Attention everyone the I pad has arrived at last!!!!

Offering a range of exciting features, within days of its launch, Apple iPad has become the latest hot buzz among the tech savvy generation. Though many people refer to it as the updated version of apple iPhone, iPad is the mix of iPhone, iTouch and a full notebook or laptop. This tablet PC has a touch screen and can be used for browsing the net, listening music, watch movies and play games.

Apple had launched the iPad at a special event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Steve Jobs, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Apple announced the prices. The 16 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G costs $629, the 32 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G costs $729 and the 64 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G costs $829.

Lets take a look at some of its features

    Mail
In landscape, you get a split-screen view showing both an opened email and the messages in your inbox. To see the opened e-mail only, turn iPad to portrait, and the email automatically rotates and takes the full screen. No matter which orientation you use, you can scroll through your mail, compose a new email using the large, onscreen keyboard, or delete messages with nothing more than a tap and a flick.

A photo can be seen right in the message. You can also save the photos in an e-mail directly to the built in Photos application. And iPad works with all the most popular email providers, including MobileMe, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, and AOL.

title:Tablet wars: Google looks to take on Apple iPad

    http://money.cnn.com/2010/02/04/technology/apple_ipad_google_chrome/index.htm

As the fanfare over Apple's new iPad reaches a fever pitch, Google is not standing idly by.

The search giant has already unveiled concept designs for its own version of a tablet, though it's unlikely that a Google tablet will hit store shelves until at least 2011.
Developers of Google Chrome OS, an open-source operating system that is set to debut in the second half of 2010, recently posted a mock tablet design on the developers' Web site chromium.org.
According to chromium.org, Google's operating system would be optimized for a tablet that has a 5-inch to 10-inch screen, but it could work on larger devices.

The designs showed a user interface that includes large, square icons and controls, navigation tabs on the side and the ability to run multiple programs in separate, side-by-side windows at once.

Facebook dominates the lives of mobile internet users in the UK, according to figures from a mobile industry body.

The social network accounts for nearly half of all the time people in the UK spend going online using their phones.

The data, from the GSM Association (GSMA), showed that people in the UK spent around 2.2bn minutes browsing the social network during December alone.

The true number may be even higher as the data was only collected from three of the five UK networks.

The data, which will eventually be collected from all five networks, showed that 16 million people in the UK accessed the internet from their mobile phones in December 2009.

Together, they viewed a total of 6.7 billion pages and spent more than 4.8 billion minutes (60 million hours) online during the month.

Facebook dominated the statistics, racking up the most unique visitors (5 million), the most number of pages viewed (2.6 million) and the most time spent on the site.

Google sites were second in the list with around with 4.57 million unique users. However, they spent on average less than one-fifth of the time on its sites, compared to Facebook.

Others sites that appeared in the top ten - which accounted for 70% of usage - included Yahoo, eBay and Microsoft.

Facebook is currently the largest social network on the web, with around 350 million users.

The six-year-old site is rolling out a new homepage design which focuses more on chat and search.
